Data Collection, Other Blogs, and New Skills

I think that I would most likely use data collection and reporting for students grades and improvements for the classroom. It can also be used for the beginning of the year to get to know students and gauge where their knowledge of the subject stands. Specifically, in first grade, I would mostly use this with my students’ parents to collect information about my students and to get any comments from the parents about their concerns. The most likely application that I would use data collection and reporting would be to report student grades and scores to either the principal or the head of the grade. I could also see it being used between teachers and staff about meetings or days off.

The most interesting topic that I have found from my classmate’s blogs was the blog about the website design assignment. I really liked seeing all of the different styles that people used. It was also cool to see all of the different grade levels and subjects and what everyone was interested in potentially teaching one day. Getting to see how everyone out their own personal style and spin on the assignment was really cool. It was also really fun to look through the most recent assignment that we did about creating and interactive PowerPoint game or something of the sort.

I don’t really have any skills that I am really interested in learning. I have previously learned about almost everything that I use in my school life. I guess the only thing that I might used that I am not 100% confident with is video editing. I don’t really make videos for my classes and if I needed to do one, I downloaded some basic video editing software and figured it out by myself. Photoshop is also a skill that I have never really used, but I don’t really feel the need to learn how to use it because there has never been a need for it in my life so far. To achieve learning these skills, I would probably complete a course by the software developers or find a Link-In learning course.
